Episode-200- Pick The Best Tasting Raspberries From All Around The House

The way to pick the best tasting raspberries is to grow your own. It’s is so much easier than you think and the raspberries do a great job of propagating to the point tat one good patch will yield many more. I began planting raspberry root plants in spring 2010 and the first harvest came in 2011. Watch the video and see how much fruit you too can get from just a bit of effort.

At the same time there came some runners and these were transplanted to another location on the east side of the house and they have grown well supported by two simple green fence posts and some wire. They were simple to transplant although runner may not survive most will if the roots are not too badly damaged. My neighbor now wants to grow raspberries and I think I will just provide some runners and plant them to see if it works.

There are now 5 nice sized raspberry patches on all sides of the property and that makes for plenty of picking. We have been harvesting Harvesting three quarters to a pound and a half of raspberries per day for over a week. Today my wife picked 2 pounds of raspberries today. That’s a new record for us and one that will aid in the jam making. She has already made some Raspberry Mousse which is tart and wonderful when set alongside some ice cream.
