Gardening is now a major part of my family’s life. Although we are still very dependent on outside sources for food we do not garden to become an island in the sea of consumerism. Rather we are learning and shaping our small plot in life to provide us with the things we love to eat for a very long time. We only began gardening in 2009 when we bought our home but our knowledge has increased greatly with each passing season. We have become smart enough to understand how to grow that which we love to eat it and require minimal care although the work at the front end can be intense. The goal is to eat well and to teach others how to do the same.

In just a few short years our yard has become adapted to produce blueberries, asparagus, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, grapes, kiwi (yes Kiwi), elderberry, peach and a host of perennial herbs. click on the photo above to see how we are doing this.
